Preserving the Harvest

We've had a lot of tomatoes this year, which we are grateful for. And still more to come! We have made bruschetta, pasta sauce and multiple batches of salsa, most canned, some frozen. Jeremy's grandad got us a bunch of apples last week and I made apple butter for the first time. I think it turned out well. Jeremy just came home today with another 5 bags of apples from Grandad's and we have two bags of persimmons waiting for us as well. Although all this stuff is a lot of work, we are out nothing but some time and canning or freezing containers/lids. It is so worth it, especially to know what good healthy food we are putting into our bodies. We are blessed with a bountiful harvest. Thanks be to God!
