100th blog post and giveaway

My backyard....I love it so much.

I've finally reached the 100th blog milestone. I started this blog a little over two years ago to document things happening in our family and to have a place to just talk about things that matter to me. Even if I am just talking to myself here it has been a nice way to record the highlights of our lives. Many things don't make it into the blog (thankfully!). I think we all try to share the best of ourselves on our blogs. However I know the things that I don't share on the blog are things that we all have in common. For example, kids screaming and hitting one another. Mom getting very frustrated and saying and doing wrong thing, and beating herself up about it for the rest of the day. Dad being short with us all after a long exhausting day. No, we aren't perfect, but we do try to be our best. But we keep trying, just as I tell my children, "if at first you don't succeed try, try again!" Most of all we are thankful for this great life we have been given. Thanks for following our journey.

Please leave a comment and tell me who you are and what your thoughts about the blog are. Especially if you have been reading and never commented. Knowing someone is actually reading helps inspire! I will randomly select someone from the comments to receive two reusable fabric snack/sandwich bags that I made. Check back Monday to see who won! Click here for a to see an example. Have a great weekend and Happy Halloween!

I'll comment because I've been meaning to ask you about your snack bags ever since you posted about them. I looked into making some for Wylah last year but couldn't find any food safe fabric that had some sort of water resistance to it. Did you just use plain cloth for yours? I'd love to hear how you made them so I can copy your ideas :). Congrats on the 100th post!!! Hope to see you guys trick or treating tomorrow! Anne

Hey there, funny that you mention snack bags...my sister-in-law was just admiring some that I have and use daily. :)

I love your blog and find it inspirational. The way you guys live and raise your kids is very much in line with how we want to raise ours, so it's always great to get tips on things to do, etc.

It's just fun to be in touch in this way. Congrats on 100 posts! (I wonder how many I've done so far?).

Thank you for sharing your "best self" with us. I always read though seldom comment. You inspire me to be my better self more often. I admire your family and your family values. Love those kids!
